What is AutoTuner?

AutoTuneris a well-known and commonly used tool in the ECU tuning industry, with headquarters in Luxembourg and 134 distributors in 45 countries worldwide. It can rewrite various ECUs and is cost-effective with the most car models supported per price. (As of March 2024, it supports more than 560 ECUs and more than 15 000 car models.)

It is available for vehicles from all over the world and is compatible with most European and some domestic vehicles. Supplementary information on typical vehicles.

(Mercedes) Benz
  • Compatible with most vehicles.
  • New 45s (M139), 53 (M256) and diesel vehicles with ECUs manufactured after July 2020 cannot be rewritten due to Bosch protection. (Tough to determine depending on the year. Check with the vehicle manufacturer).
BMW
  • Compatible with most vehicles.
  • E-type V10 M5 and M6 are beta versions.
  • Bench-unlocking support allows installation with OBD flashers such as bm3.
  • However, ECUs manufactured from July 2020 onwards cannot be unlocked or rewritten. (May be possible up to 2021).
Audi, Volkswagen

Compatible with most vehicles from around 2006 onwards. Prior to that, Beta versions are relatively available.

Ferarri Maserati.
  • For various vehicles including 458, 488, FF, F12, 812, GTC4, Portofino, F8 and California T.
  • Compatible with the newer Quattroporte (6th), Ghibli and Levante, which are turbocharged.
  • Granturismo, Quatroportte(5th)は不可。
Abarth/FIAT, Alfa Romeo.

Compatible with most vehicle types.

Toyota and Lexus
  • クラウン200系、マークX、IS,GS,RC,LSの2.5L-4GR, 3.5L-2GR, 4.6L-1URの対応確認あり。
  • GRヤリスも可。(たまに対応していない場合もあり)
  • GT86, GR86 not allowed.
Nissan and Infiniti
  • OBDからデータを読めるため対応(一部は未対応。)
  • 400R not available.

The difference between Master and Slave.

Autotuner is available in Master and Slave; Master is the parent tool like our mbFAST Tuning has. It can actually read, edit (purchased separately) and write ECU data, making it a tool for professionals. Slave, on the other hand, is a child tool associated with Master, which can read and write ECU data, but the files are encrypted and cannot be checked or edited, only Master can unlock the data. This is a tool for distributors linked to Master. Other Masters that are not linked to the Master cannot decrypt the data, preventing it from being copied or diverted.

Required during set-up, reading and writing. Tethering is also possible.

Portable power supply and battery charger (recommended)

Some car models take a long time to write from OBD, during which time the key is always on, so a combination of a charger and a set of chargers prevents the battery from running down. A portable power supply is a good idea in case of a power failure during the writing process. Also, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz 35AMG, 45sAMG and 53AMG models, which require ECU removal and installation instead of OBD, require an external power supply, so please be prepared if you plan to install one.

Used to erase errors that may occur after ECU rewriting.

ECU data editing software (Master only)

This software is not required for prospective mbFAST Tuning franchisees.
Autotuner is a read-only machine. For checking and editing data, you will need to prepare separate editing software.
