World First: Switchable Sound Maps on a Lamborghini Revuelto — Plus an Even Wilder Afterfire

In June, we unlocked our first Lamborghini Revuelto and gave its 6.5L V12 the pops, bangs and afterfire the factory holds back. We said then that the unlock was the hard part — that story is here. This is what happens once that door is open.
Development didn’t stop in June. Working on a Maziora — color-shifting — Revuelto through SFIDA, our official dealer in Nagano and our partner on the original unlock, we built two things: an updated, considerably more violent afterfire calibration, and something we believe no other Revuelto in the world has — four switchable sound maps the driver can change from the seat. No laptop. No tools. No extra hardware.
And it’s already in a customer’s hands. The first delivery car — the striking yellow-and-purple Revuelto below — left the workshop with the full package installed.

The Afterfire, Turned Up
The June car proved the Revuelto could crackle and pop at all. Since then we’ve kept developing on the platform — refining the ignition and overrun behavior we mapped out during that first all-nighter — and the difference is not subtle. Where the first calibration cracked and burbled, this one breathes fire.
That’s the updated calibration on the overrun. Long, hard flames on every lift of the throttle — on a naturally aspirated hybrid V12 that, from the factory, isn’t allowed to do any of this.

A World First: Four Sound Maps, Switched From the Driver’s Seat
Until now, an afterfire car had one personality. Whatever calibration was flashed in, that’s the car — and changing it meant coming back to the shop for a reflash. On this Revuelto, we built the choice into the car itself.
The switching uses controls the car already has. At a standstill, press the brake and flick the cruise control lever up or down. The tachometer needle sweeps to indicate the selected map — 1,000, 2,000, 3,000 or 4,000 rpm — and the calibration changes on the spot:
- 1,000 rpm — Normal. Factory-calm. Nothing to wake the neighbors.
- 2,000 rpm — Burble. A rich crackle and burble on the overrun.
- 3,000 rpm — Bomb Burble. Heavier, harder detonations between shifts.
- 4,000 rpm — Afterfire. The full calibration. The one in the video above.
Here it is working on the actual cluster. Using the tachometer needle as the map indicator means the driver gets clear feedback through the car’s own instruments — no added switches, no screens stuck to the dash, nothing in the cabin that Lamborghini didn’t put there.
And that changes how the car gets used. Leave home early on the Normal map without a sound. Switch to Burble for the city. Save Afterfire for the mountain pass or the meet. One car, four personalities — selected in seconds, by the owner.
Behind the Development — a Maziora Revuelto, and a Visitor From Australia

The heavy development work didn’t happen on the customer’s car. It happened on this one — a Maziora Revuelto connected to SFIDA, whose color-shifting paint watched over every flash, test and re-flash while the four-map logic was developed and proven.

This project also pulled someone across an ocean. Joshua, a fellow tuner from Australia — the same age as me, as it turns out — flew to Japan specifically to join this development. That’s what genuinely new work does: there aren’t many garages in the world where you can stand next to an unlocked Revuelto while a world-first function comes to life, and the people who live for this can tell where it’s happening.

What’s Underneath It

Each of the four positions is not a single tweaked value — it’s a complete calibration set: ignition, fueling and overrun behavior developed per map, then integrated with the Revuelto’s hybrid control logic so the whole powertrain stays consistent whichever map is selected. The screenshot above is one ignition table belonging to the 1,000 rpm slot alone.
Building four of these — and making the car switch between them safely, from the driver’s seat, on a locked next-generation hybrid ECU — is the part we’re proud of. As always, the method itself stays in-house.
FAQ
Is this really a world first?
To our knowledge, yes. We have not seen driver-selectable multi-map sound switching — indicated through the factory tachometer — done on a Revuelto anywhere else. If someone beat us to it, we’d genuinely like to see the video.
Do I need a laptop or an app to switch maps?
No. Brake pedal plus cruise control lever at a standstill — that’s the whole procedure. The tachometer needle shows which map is active.
Does the Normal map keep the car civilized?
Yes. Position one behaves like the standard car, so daily driving, early departures and quiet garages are no problem.
My Revuelto already has your afterfire from the first calibration. Can it be updated?
The unlock was the hard part and it’s already done on your car — the wilder afterfire and the map switch are calibration updates on top. Get in touch.
Is it reversible?
Fully. The car can go back to stock calibration at any time.
Is this street legal?
Regulations differ by country and region. Loud afterfire calibrations are intended for closed-course and off-street use — check your local regulations.
