ECU & TCU tuning — Japan
Tuned in Japan.Stage 1 to 4.
Stage 1–4 ECU remaps and TCU tuning for supercars and performance cars. Flashed the same day at our partner shops across Japan, or delivered remotely to your workshop anywhere in the world. Dragon Afterfire, our signature pops-and-bangs calibration, is available as a separate option.
Select your make
Every model page shows stock and tuned output, the price in euros, and the options available for that engine. Pick your make to get there.
Your car isn’t listed? We tune far more than what’s published — send us the model and engine on WhatsApp and we’ll quote it.
What we change in the ECU
Factory software leaves margin on the table for fuel quality, climate and warranty. We rewrite the calibration for the hardware your car actually has, then verify it on the road.
- Ignition timing
- Advanced to suit the fuel you run, for gains through the whole rev range.
- Fuel delivery
- Air–fuel ratio set for power under load and efficiency at cruise.
- Boost pressure
- Higher peak and sustained boost, kept inside turbo and exhaust-temperature limits.
- Throttle map
- Sharper pedal response with the dead zone removed.
- Torque limiters
- Raised within the mechanical margins of the engine and drivetrain.
- Rev and speed limiters
- Extended or removed on request.
Latest Bosch protection is not a problem. We flash MG1 and MD1 ECUs with the post-2021 security layer — Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Mini and Lotus included.

Then the gearbox
An ECU tune makes more torque than the factory transmission expects, so the TCU keeps clipping it in the lower gears. Tuning both is how the power reaches the wheels.
- Shift points
- Hold gears to redline under load; no forced upshifts in manual mode.
- Shift speed
- Faster, firmer changes on DCT, PDK and ZF automatics.
- Clutch pressure
- Raised to carry the extra torque without slip.
- Torque limits
- Per-gear limits lifted to match the engine calibration.
- Launch control
- Higher launch RPM and tighter engagement where the platform allows it.

Dragon Afterfire
Our signature calibration, and the reason mbFAST is known across Japan. Dragon Afterfire is a product in its own right: built individually for each car and exhaust, and priced separately from the remap.
- Quoted per vehicle — added to any Stage, or ordered on its own without a remap.
- Intensity tuned to your exhaust — stock, valved or straight-pipe — so it sounds right, not just loud.
- Map switching on selected platforms: turn it on for the tunnel, off for the neighbours, from the driver’s seat.
- Developed on real cars, not a generic pops-and-bangs file: from a lift-off crackle to full flames, controlled.
Remapping options
Each option is priced individually. Add them to a remap, or order them on their own.
How it works
Most cars are done through the OBD port in a single visit. No drop-off, no waiting days for the car.
Choose your vehicle
Find your model above to see the gains, the price and the options for your engine.
Book or order remotely
Visit a partner shop in Japan, or order online and send us your ECU read from anywhere in the world.
We flash it
Through the OBD port, usually 30 minutes to 2 hours. Some platforms need the ECU on the bench; we’ll tell you up front.
Drive
Your original file stays on record with us, so the car can always go back to stock.
Questions we get asked
What does ECU tuning actually do?
It makes the car faster and more responsive. The remap raises torque limits, sharpens throttle response and optimises ignition and fuelling — a driving experience well beyond the factory setting.
Will fuel economy get better or worse?
It depends on the engine. Smaller-displacement turbo engines often gain economy at cruise, because the optimised calibration is more efficient. Driven hard, you’ll use more fuel — that’s the extra power.
Does it affect my warranty? Can a dealer erase it?
Check warranty terms with your dealer before tuning. Our data survives a standard diagnostic reset at a workshop; it can be overwritten by an ECU or TCU firmware update, in which case we re-flash it.
I’m not in Japan. Can you still tune my car?
Yes. Remote tuning is available worldwide: you read the ECU with your tool, send us the file, and we return the tuned file. See the remote tuning page for supported tools.
Is Dragon Afterfire included in a remap?
No. Dragon Afterfire is a separate calibration, quoted per vehicle. It can be added to any Stage or ordered on its own — it is never bundled in as a free extra.
Is there a shop near me?
We have partner shops across Japan. Use the dealer list to find the nearest one, or message us on WhatsApp and we’ll point you to it.
