Nissan GT-R (R35): Dragon Afterfire & Pops and Bangs — Tuned in Godzilla’s Homeland (667 HP)
Godzilla, tuned where it was born.
This R35 GT-R belongs to a repeat client of ours — a collector who has already trusted us with his Maserati and his Ferrari. This time, he handed us the keys to Japan’s most famous weapon.
What we built:
- Full ECU tune — up to 667 HP
- Dragon Afterfire — flames on demand
- Pops and Bangs (burble / crackle tune)
- 4 switchable maps, controlled from the steering wheel
How Much Power Does an R35 Make? (Real-World Reference)

Numbers from our actual tuning data on the VR38DETT, by hardware stage:
- Stock catalytic converter: approx. 580 HP
- Cat delete: approx. 605 HP
- Cat delete + intake + plugs + 4-inch exhaust + high-flow fuel pump: approx. 667 HP
- Above + 1000cc injectors: approx. 710 HP
This car runs the full package short of injectors — a true 667 HP street build with factory-grade drivability.
What Is “Dragon Afterfire”?
You may know it as a burble tune, crackle map, or pops and bangs. Dragon Afterfire is our own take, developed in-house in Tokyo: on throttle lift, the exhaust doesn’t just crackle — it breathes fire. Real, visible flames, produced purely through ECU calibration. No hardware tricks, no gimmick boxes.
The difference between a generic pop tune and ours is control — which brings us to the best part.
Four Personalities, One Button

We mapped the cruise-cancel button on the steering wheel to switch between four complete ECU maps — hands never leave the wheel:
- Map 1 — Mild Burble. A subtle gurgle on lift-off. Daily-driver friendly.
- Map 2 — Heavy Burble. Loud, aggressive pops and bangs. Turns heads at every intersection.
- Map 3 — Dragon Afterfire. Hold slight throttle around 5,000 RPM, press the button — the exhaust erupts in flames.
- Map 4 — Launch Mode. Dedicated launch-control calibration for maximum standing starts.
One press, instant character change. Grocery run to fire-breathing monster and back.
Watch It Breathe Fire
We filmed this session with a 360° camera — the flame footage is unreal.
