Can I return to stock after bubbling or ECU tuning?

You can put it back in. When rewriting a computer, the engine will not start if only the areas causing bubbling are rewritten. In order to rewrite a part of the data, it is necessary to balance the entire data area, and it is impossible to fundamentally rewrite the data without the original data. For this reason, we only work with a backup or with the original and pre-construction data. Your data is stored in the cloud and can be recalled at any time. However, if the ECU has already been tuned, it may not be possible to return to the original data unless you inform us in advance.

I already have an ECU tuned by another company, can I leave it and only add bubbling?

Depends on vehicle and tuning data. Firstly, please ask the shop that carried out the bubbling to see if there is a bubbling option available. If the shop refuses to offer it, we will help you to the extent that we can. In the case of our installation, we will first extract the data from the current vehicle, but in many cases the data cannot be extracted from the OBD, and the ECU may need to be removed and installed. If the ECU is not only removed but also has to be dismantled and the base stripped to extract the data, the price will increase significantly and it may be cheaper to have our ECU tuning carried out as well.

Is the vehicle safe for inspection or dealer entry?

If there is a volume measurement and the specification is for constant bubbling, the vehicle may not pass inspection. However, in most cases the volume is not measured. Even if this is the case, some vehicles can be specified so that the sound is only emitted when the accelerator pedal is slightly (3 mm) left in the accelerator pedal and not when the accelerator pedal is normally released. If the vehicle is compatible with the Powergate3 remote tool or the IXI Flasher, the customer can return it to stock before the vehicle is inspected.ECU tuning and bubbling can damage the catalyst and cause it to deteriorate faster, especially on overdrive vehicles, which can result in an exhaust gas test at vehicle inspection. Please be careful not to overdo it.

What are the advantages, disadvantages and risks of ECU tuning?

[Advantages] First and foremost, it will be faster and may feel like your own special car, different from other cars of the same type. In some, but not all cases, fuel consumption may also increase. Especially in turbocharged cars with smaller displacements, the boost is applied earlier, the start-up speed is faster and you may find it easier to drive like you are flowing with the accelerator off.

Disadvantages: turbocharged vehicles have more boost and inject more fuel accordingly. This can have a negative effect on fuel economy, especially when the accelerator is fully opened. However, normal driving and slight acceleration will rarely result in a drop in fuel economy.

[Risk] If the vehicle is driven sportier by boosting up or tuning, the load after the engine will be higher, resulting in hotter exhaust gases. The catalyst is sensitive to high temperatures and continuous high temperature exhaust gases can cause the catalyst to deteriorate quickly. If you drive sporty, engine oil consumption, suspension and bushes will also deteriorate faster than normal, so regular maintenance is recommended. Those who tune their cars mainly for normal city driving do not need to worry so much, but regular maintenance is a good thing in any case.

Is there a guarantee?

No. No guarantee can be given as to the cost of repairs in the event of a breakdown. The same applies to towing costs. There are no campaigns such as "free re-application within 100 days" or "free up to 100 times". It is possible for you to make an appointment to come in, have bubbling applied, test drive the car and try out the sound level. After the final decision has been made, a re-installation fee will be charged for specification changes due to the customer's circumstances, except in the case of symptoms that cause significant problems with driving at a later date.

Of course, we have included data that we have created in an effort to avoid breakage, and we also inform you that we do not recommend exceeding a certain level of bubbling volume at the time of installation, as this increases the risk of exhaust system damage, especially if the bubbling volume is increased. However, the premise is that tuning is synonymous with doing something out of the ordinary to the car. Please bear this in mind.

Where do you use the data?

All original.

Where is the shop located? Can you do it at a distance?

The head office is in Tokyo, with franchisees and distributors in Chiba, Osaka, Aichi and Miyagi. For distant locations, ECUs can be sent by post,Remote toolsIn some cases, the installation can be carried out remotely by ECU, so please contact us for more information. If the ECU is sent by ECU post, it will be returned to you in as little as the same day to three days.
