Thanks for your help. We received a request for ECU tuning and bubbling installation on a Porsche 991 GT3RS 4.0. This super low mileage GT3RS was customised with a good taste of wrapping, which we thought was in stock colour. We were looking for a place to do the computer and were introduced to a touring event where one of our bubbling customers was there by chance.
The ECU is fully backed up anyway, as it is a luxury car of unknown price. To connect the cables to the ECU in the rear engine, the transmission fan was removed, the cover was removed and various other parts were dismantled. The owner was super cooperative and helped me by shining a light on it! I'm glad he's a nice guy. It's fun to work with him.
Once backed up, you can only write data from the OBD as normal. The writing process takes 10 minutes initially, during which time you can put the pieces back together.
